She recently set-up a telecoms business involving China -a country she already has plenty of experience of. Q: What were you doing prior to your current role and how did you get involved with China? Before founding AwayPhone in October of 2006, I was advising UK and European businesses on entering China via M&A transactions. Q: What is the nature of your current business? AwayPhone is a mobile telephony service for international travelers. We provide a local SIM card and clever voice routing technology to save customers over 85% on call charges when they're abroad. Q: Why did you decide to set-up this business? I have spent a lot of time traveling in China and when I returned home I was always met with a shocking mobile bill. AwayPhone was founded on the principle that business travelers need an easy, cost-effective way to build business relationships internationally.
