China M&A is at an all time high, with most analysts forecasting significant future growth across inbound, domestic and outbound transactions.

  • Inbound: Corporates are increasingly seeing M&A as the right entry or expansion strategy in China. VC and Private Equity investments have been at all time high, with a large wave of recent funds and investment houses flocking to the region. Why? What are the opportunities and challenges within this environment?
  • Outbound: Since 1986, Chinese companies have invested some $30 billion in non-Chinese companies, nearly a third in 2004 and 2005 alone. Some believe a Tsunami of investment is about to hit foreign shores. Is this correct, why are we seeing this trend, and what are its implications?
  • Domestic: Less well known is the significant amount of M&A occurring domestically within China and between China and the Asian region. What is the nature of this and what are the implications for foreign corporates, banks and investment houses?
