Grant Thornton UK LLP's China Group was launched in early 2006 to satisfy the high demand for targeted advice in this rapidly changing market. The group pulls together resources from Grant Thornton International member firms in both the UK and China and is well placed to support both UK companies looking to invest in China and equally Chinese companies looking to the UK.

The cross disciplinary group led by partner, Stephen Weatherseed (who was based in our Hong Kong office for over 16 years) has a number of native Mandarin and Cantonese speakers specialising in service streams including tax, transaction support and audit. We have been working for a number of years with UK companies seeking to develop and acquire a presence in China, China-based companies aiming to raise funds in the UK through an IPO (typically on AIM) and China-based companies seeking to gain entry into the UK through organic growth or acquisition

For more than 10 years our dedicated team has had significant involvement with the industry. We offer access to comprehensive regional coverage, coordinated throughout the UK by our national Manufacturing Team.

We offer solutions and advice across the following service areas: audit and assurance services; tax compliance and planning; corporate finance services including raising equity and debt finance to fund growth and advising on acquisition targets and exit strategies; recovery and reorganisation services; and operations covering such issues as operational management, consultancy and profit improvement.
